Final Part 1 C

I feel this daily burn could benefit me, as well as other students or adults who just need a little reinforcement on their dieting. For me personally, I'm not much of a workout at the gym guy, but I love playing sports and being active. The daily burn gives me recommended calorie intake and what I could burn if I am active. So these tips may be enough for some overweight people to get on the right track. Once I get past this area there is no hope for me. I am so lost with this site, and if you want to continue with certain things you must pay.

I also do not like how all the foods are fast foods. I cook most of my meals and I do not feel like looking up everything that I ate or every little detail that I put into my food. Students could keep a daily log of what they eat or what exercises they accomplish outside of school. Have students set goals in the beginning of the year and see what they can accomplish. I feel that social levels will have a major influence on these results. When people have less money, it's much harder to be healthy because healthier foods are much more expensive. To make things easier, you could allow students who are already healthy and have their own workout plans to assist the others in class and make that be their job. Someone who is already a health nut will be encouraged to make a difference on somebodies health.

Final Part 1

Exergame Video

In order for a man to succeed in life, God provided him with two means, education and physical activity. Not separately, one for the soul and one for the body, but for the two together. With these two means, man can attain perfection.-Plato

The first site is most likely a Canadian page. Ottawa would be my guess of the province, seeing that is says the weather there in the top left corner.
The piece was very interesting and seeing changes like that has to make other countries as well as other school districts to want to be involved in this epidemic. We most likely don't hear these things about City Park because it's in another Country and I feel we as American, our stubborn ways will deny our success in these Exergames. I feel the best outcome of this video was the changing of the children and how their lives were saved. Some of these kids not only were bad with learning and school, but used drugs and were looking at jail time or death. The standards seemed to be the same where students need to participate and not stand around. This video is also beneficial to show that students who exercise more often or at least for 45 minutes a day can increase learning capacity and comprehension. These findings alone should be enough to show the benefits of exercise and learning.
John J. Ratey, wrote a book called Spark, which sparked the teachers idea to get exercise in her classroom which ultimately benefited her students.

Brain-derived neurotrophic factor(BDNF)The more we exercise, the more BDNF functions. It repairs parts of the brain and allows for a less stressful environment. You get BDNF by being active and thinking at the same time.

Racket Activities Rule at Cortland

This semester I have been given the opportunity to assist a teacher in Racket Activities as a teacher assistant. This came from hard work in the class when I was just a regular student. It is a great feeling when a teacher asks you to be a T.A. because it shows they have noticed your hard work and dedication to the subject matter. In every class, we should push ourselves as well as the teachers. This honor has allowed me teaching knowledge as well as getting to know how teachers are on a more personal level. Take these chances and challenges whenever they arise, get your name out there and be part of a team. If any other teachers need a professional T.A. out there, I'm available. Thanks Shirley Cahill for this opportunity to work along side you and learn from your experience.

These are some pictures of me showing students cues and form for tennis swings.
